Cookie Policy

This page explains what cookies and similar storage technologies Promptvexity uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. We also use localStorage — a similar browser-side storage mechanism — for some preferences.
Cookies we use
| Name / Key | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Strictly necessary | Keeps you logged in (Supabase auth session) | Session / 1 week |
| promptvexity_cookie_consent | Strictly necessary | Stores your cookie consent choice (localStorage) | Persistent |
| promptvexity_tour_seen | Functional | Remembers if you have completed the onboarding tour (localStorage) | Persistent |
| comparePrompts | Functional | Stores prompt IDs in your compare selection (localStorage) | Session |
| _ga, _ga_* | Analytics | Google Analytics — distinguishes users and sessions (only set after consent) | 2 years |
Analytics cookies are not set until you click "Accept" in the cookie banner. If you decline, only strictly necessary and functional storage is used.
Third-party services
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns (page views, session duration, general location). Google Analytics operates under Google's Privacy Policy. We have enabled Consent Mode v2, meaning analytics data is not sent until you consent.
Our authentication provider (Supabase) sets its own session cookies as part of the login flow. These are strictly necessary and cannot be disabled without breaking authentication.
How to control cookies
You can change your consent choice at any time by clicking the cookie banner link in the footer, or by clearing your browser's localStorage for this site.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
Note that blocking all cookies will prevent you from logging in.
